This is the real professional coaches’ helmet, exactly as I remember it in my playing days. I read other reviews that claimed that this helmet is a cheap knock off. In fact it is a step better than I remember. The older helmets were made of fiber infused or resin-based material that was heavy and hot. This is a step above. The material is an advanced compound that resembles the shell of a modern ski boot or modern football helmets. Super strong yet a little flexible, the appropriate holographic “authentic” decal is attached to the interior along with the traditional Rawlings on field equipment patch opposite the decal. The attached perimeter padding is a durable leather-like fabric and the crown padding is similar to football knee pads. I am convinced that this is an official Rawlings project. Perhaps Amazon received a counterfeit batch at some point in the past, but this is not one of those.Sizing: during my playing days my head size had always been 7 5/8th. This helmet fits me perfectly. I am very pleased with this purchase for only $25.00. I could not be more satisfied. Order your exact size.
