Didn't work---had to returnThis helmet fit a little snug when I first received it; however, after about three rides, it fit like a glove. It gives a little bit of a mushroom effect, but that is because it is DOT approved. The quality and cost of the helmet is outstanding and I would buy another one in a minute. The quick release chin strap is perfect and I have had no issues with it.Sizing runs very small.Not sure who to sing. Received a bashed up box that had been resealed. Gave it a chance but found the helmet inside to be lacking. The fit was fine but there was bubbles in the leather, scuff Mark's in the leather and it already had a small dent in the dome. Did not accept the helmet in this state and returned it.I received this helmet last night and wore it into work this morning. It's one of the, if not the most comfortable helmets I own. It is not overly large, no "mushroom" look; I also own a Daytona low profile (novelty) helmet and this helmet is only marginally larger, maybe a 1/2 inch wider, and it's a DOT approved helmet (required in my state). The leather covering is very nice, matches the black leather fender bras and saddlebags on my trike. I wear a 7 1/8 size hat, and the large size helmet fit perfectly; the included mesh skull cap does not add any bulk and I like it much better than those that have an elastic band.I wear a Daytona skull cap because they are good helmets that are designed to not make you look like a mushroom head. I've been wearing the same one for about two years now. I bought this helmet thinking it would be the same thing but covered in leather and it almost is. The problem is that it seems to be larger and looks ridiculous. This is a shame because this is an extremely well built helmet. Also the chin strap clasp works amazingly well but it is heavy and rests on my Adam's apple whitch bugs the heck out of me while I'm riding. While I will still recommend Daytona skull caps, Idefinitely do not recommend this one.I ordered a 4XL as I have a pretty big head. The 4XL HJC is actually a bit too big for me, but I thought a half helmet a bit too big would be ok. I cannot get my head into this helmet. It says it is a 4XL, but it is comparable in size to a HJC XL. Do not let the 4XL fool you into thinking it will fit a big head.Thick inner liner made the helmet look like A mushroom.Returned for a fee. Wouldn’t recommend this product.
