Day 1 with the juicer...I was really excited to receive the Kuvings juicer, so got right down to it...read over the instruction book, which has very clear photos, and unpacked the unit. It came very well packaged, everything was in perfect condition, with triple boxes (thanks amazon.com!). When I lifted the main unit out of the box, I was impressed with its heaviness...this juicer will not walk across my counter, nor will it rattle when juicing. It is SUPER quiet, very impressed with this...I juiced a large orange, 1 peach from our backyard tree, a few baby carrots, and a small slice of peeled ginger, and they all went through the tube and turned into juice very efficiently and quickly. The juice was delicious, the machine stayed cool, and I was excited to get 9 oz of juice from those few items!Observations:1. This unit is made in Korea, so the recipe book, while very colorful, should have been translated a bit better as to sentence flow and spelling errors, but hey, I'm a librarian/teacher so I catch those things...2. In the recipe book, it was sometimes hard to read recipes printed in yellow or even peachy colors.3. There is one instruction book with directions for assembly and disassembly, and also a neat little plastic-y card that can be easily read, although once you do the assembly and take down, you should remember the steps.4. Assembly is very easy, with the red dots which need to be lined up clearly visible, and the markings for the 'locked' and 'unlocked' positions easily seen.5. I love the dark burgundy color, really jazzes up my counter.6. VERY quiet.7. Easy to clean, took me a few minutes to take things apart the first time, but the second time it was so simple...8. Small footprint, unlike my previous Jack LaLane, which was a beast on my counter9. Recipes could be more creative, but I have other juicing books, and there's always the Web...Day 2 with the juicer...just revised my rating to a 5 star. Today I juiced 2 handfulls of baby spinach, some kale, half of an apple, and a whole peach. The suggestions in the manual are to let the leafy greens soak in water for 20 mins. or so. I had to use the pusher for the greens because they were small, and it helped getting them started, but once they did, that lovely green juice started to flow. Added the other ingredients, everything went smoothly. Because the items get pressed so well with the masticator, the pulp is extremely dry, and thus, doesn't move through the pulp-ejector tube as freely - to help this, cut things up and alternate your items when you're adding them to the feed tube. With all of the additional parts, not just the motor unit. Kuvings really stands behind their product, and I'm a happy juicer once again !
